Our Beliefs

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Christians who assemble with the Golden Triangle Church of Christ believe that God's word guides us each day and in every situation.

We believe God sent his only begotten Son to die for the sins of this world.

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We believe that through his death, we have a hope of life.

Romans 6:8 (KJV) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

We believe that it is God’s will that all would be saved from their sins.

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We believe that we must have a spiritual re-birth, found in belief, repentance, acknowledging Jesus as Lord, and Baptism for the remission of sins.

John 3:3 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

We believe that as Christians, we should honor God and keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 (KJV) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

We believe that we should use the example of the New Testament Church as our pattern (Philippians 4:9 (KJV) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.).

We observe the Lord’s Supper each Sunday (Acts 20:7 (KJV) And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.).

Each Sunday we contribute with a cheerful heart, as we have been prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1 (KJV) Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.) and (2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.).

Using multiple men teachers, the capable men at the Golden Triangle Church of Christ teach the entire group, speaking one at a time and using only the word of God (Acts 13:1 (KJV) Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.)

Our singing is congregational, without the aid of musical instruments (Ephesians 5:19 (KJV) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;).

We pray together as one of the men leads our thoughts (Acts 20:36 (KJV) And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.).
